The new models give the same point a to point b directions, however, most of them will actually give a very well estimate time of arrival. The time of arrival is figured in real-time, based on the vehicle's average speed. This means that if someone hits road construction on the way to a big event with friends, they will be able to call ahead and give their arrival time almost to the minute based on their current speed.
In addition, today's systems are fully customizable for each user. Many of the companies allow users to download voices of their favorite celebrity or athlete to guide them to the spot. In previous models, people had to listen to some monotonous voice telling them to turn ahead 50 times. Even worse, a lot of the older models did not even seem to know what they were talking about. Many people complain about older GPS telling them to turn around, when there is a sign at the intersection informing drivers that a u-turn is illegal.
GPS is an excellent feature to have in any vehicle. They will get people to their destination as quickly and safely as possible. People will be able to focus on driving safely, knowing that they do not have to look over at a map every so often. They will also enjoy knowing how good of time they are making on their way to a vacation destination.
